Unlike any other territory, Asraniae is not merely governed—it is possessed by the Imperator as a personal dominion. Its administration is thus entrusted only to those of the highest stature and loyalty. The title of Princeps of Asraniae is not that of a mere governor, but a sovereign-styled deputyship—an embodiment of imperial authority in the Imperator’s own land. Typically granted only to members of the Imperial Family or the Imperator’s most exalted confidants, the Princeps stands as the living symbol of unity between crown and homeland.

Situated entirely within the ancient and brooding expanse of the Dark Forest, Provincia Asraniae stands as the very heartland of the Imperium Asraniae. From the bustling riverbanks of the Natunni River to the misty thickets of the eastern woods, Provincia Asraniae embodies the spirit of Asrian dominion — proud, steadfast, and unconquerable.
The provincial capital, the grand City of Asraniae, serves as both the political and cultural center of the region. Other important cities include Solambulatia, renowned for its ancient monastic communities and academies, and Solhaven, a thriving port that connects the forest province to the trade arteries of foreign realms.
Prior to its absorption into Asran’s emerging empire, the lands of modern Provincia Asraniae were ruled by Duke Altus Kruger under the banner of the Katanwald, a dominant and proud figure within the collapsing Western Confederation, was seen by many as the final major obstacle to Asran’s eastward ambitions.
In a masterstroke of diplomacy and aggression, Asran first forced Duke Altus to cede the critical city of Asadale, securing a foothold on the Natunni River. The final blow came swiftly thereafter: Asran accused Kruger of conspiring with the Hawks, citing his appeals for Hawk intervention as a betrayal of Western sovereignty. Rallying his peers and the then-Empress Sharona Arbuckle to his cause, Asran isolated Kruger, forcing him to abandon hope of outside salvation. Broken and disgraced, Duke Altus succumbed to slumber, his dynasty shattered.
In the aftermath, Asran ordered the destruction of the Kruger bloodline, succeeding in slaying one of Altus' heirs before others were spirited away by loyal remnants of the Second Ones. With Kruger’s fall, the Duchy of Katanwald was wholly absorbed, giving birth to what would become Provincia Asraniae — the first true bastion of Asrian supremacy.
It was at the Natunni River, within this very province, that Asran’s crusading armies would eventually cross into the Lowlands, forever altering the destiny of the continent.
Provincia Asraniae remains defined by its dense, ancient woodlands and the wide, serpentine Natunni River. Though the Dark Forest holds many lingering mysteries, the province has blossomed under Imperial rule, with flourishing cities, fortified outposts, and fertile farmlands cut from the forest’s edge.
